Hurricane Preparedness Training
According to the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), an unprepared employee costs an organization $2,800 per person each year. If those employees are not available, organizations cannot execute their recovery plans costing companies even more. Seven of ten businesses that experience a disruption of over 3 days will fail in less than 2 years; nine of ten will be out of business in 5 years (Business Continuity Institute).
Studies have also shown that companies with strong preparedness programs have a greater market capitalization before an event and a 22% higher stock price after an event than companies with weaker or no programs (Knight and Pretty, Oxford University).
In our workshops with over 75 regional businesses, nearly all identified "having good employee education and training" as one of the 16 key lessons learned from their tropical storm response since 2008.
Many clients have called on ImpactReady’s experts to develop tailored hurricane preparedness training for their crisis teams and staff. If your hurricane preparedness efforts do not include our new 2011 seminars and videos, your training definitely requires an update! Watch a video preview on-line. The two different types of training come in either or both of two formats – webinars or on-site seminars – each specifically branded for your organization:
- Crisis Management Team (CMT) presentations for the staff responsible for managing hurricane response/planning
- Employee Hurricane Preparedness (EHP) presentations for general employee education and training
- A preview of the 2011 tropical storm season
- Lessons learned from the last two storm seasons
- What to expect when the next hurricane makes landfall
- Why personal resiliency and preparation matter
- How companies, staff and their families should plan, prepare & respond
Following the presentation, you can also utilize a user web link to post on your intranet for employees who miss the initial training or for refresher training throughout the year in advance of a land-falling tropical storm. This link will be provided for your employees for unlimited use going forward.
Ensure 2011 is your most effective and efficient hurricane response season ever. Don’t rely on outdated training that will make your hurricane response actions untested and problematic. Survive this year’s tropical storm season and rely on ImpactWeather for readiness services that count. Be ImpactReady!
